Jellinek Society

Jellinek Society is a non-profit organization that has been supporting recovery for over 60 years, providing a peer-oriented, safe, and nurturing home for men in early drug and alcohol addiction recovery. Operating a 17-bed residential facility in downtown Edmonton, the organization offers an abstinence-based environment that provides housing and fellowship for those transitioning between treatment and independent living. Their comprehensive program includes on-site 12 Step meetings, trained professional one-on-one counselling, complex trauma informed group sessions, men's wisdom circle, Stillpoint group, yoga, meditation, and recreational activities in the community. The facility helps recovering alcoholics and cross-addicted men re-enter society sober, clean and self-reliant by providing the necessary time, resources and support to assist in their transition into the community. Founded in 1959 as the United Church Hostel and incorporated as Jellinek Society in 1964, the organization operates on core values of abstinence, confidentiality, dignity and respect, safety, and structure.
